adrift on a cosmic ocean

Writings on various topics (mostly technical) from Oliver Hookins and Angela Collins. We have lived in Berlin since 2009, have two kids, and have far too little time to really justify having a blog.

Well, I've certainly had a lot less free time to write blog posts recently. I don't even have my actual desktop computer back in operation yet (the screen was cracked in transit). We have finally moved into an apartment in Sydney and life is returning to some definition of normal. With three kids and a new job there is a lot to balance, and not a lot of time for many things.

That being said, I've been making an effort to get back to my Headspace meditation rituals and do a bit of reading on my new, slightly longer commute. Here's what I have been making my way through recently. Zero comments, but basically all have been good:

Why Buddhism is True by Robert Wright

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Still in progress:

Turn The Ship Around! by L. David Marquet

User Story Mapping by Jeff Patton

Impossible to Ignore by Carmen Simon

Not yet started:

Reinventing Organizations by Frederic Laloux

Principles of Product Development Flow by Don Reinertsen

There's another small pile of books next to the bed including a couple on artistic drawing which I sorely want to start, so maybe they will jump the queue ahead of some of these dry management books...
